Free edits: one dictation, one edit
Each dictation that goes through AI editing counts once. One dictation can be up to 1,500 characters, about 2 minutes of talking.
Dictation alone is never counted
With AI editing off, you can dictate as much as you like for free.
Paid plans: characters a day
Pro and Max count the characters you send over the last 24 hours, across your computers. Past the limit, Cosso keeps typing the on-device text until the count drops.

Questions about pricing
- Is dictation really free?
- Yes. Speech recognition runs on your computer, so it costs us nothing to run and has no limit.
- Do I need an account for the free edits?
- No. The first week's 30 edits work without an account.
- Are there other limits?
- One dictation on a paid plan can be up to 6,000 characters, about 7.5 minutes of talking. Pro also stops at 500 edits a day, Max at 1,000. Almost nobody gets near these. A team seat has the same limits as Pro.
- How do teams pay?
- Per seat. Owners and admins manage the team in the app; write to us if you need to pay by invoice.
